gross and ouch.

so, uh, no new prints. i started on a new aquatint and was going to print a bunch of milk bottles for a portfolio exchange in class, but i had a bit of an accident. i was cutting the paper for my many milk bottle prints, and i guess i spaced out and didn't pay attention to the location of all my fingers because i took chunk off of one with a utility knife. i've messed up one of my fingers before, but this was the first time i actually took something off. it's not really anything serious, just bloody and weird feeling, but i did get really dizzy and nauseous at one point. i surprised myself. peoples at printmaking were super helpful about it with band-aids and such. sasha and david came and picked me up from the amherst studio and fixed up finger, which was very nice of them.

captured!

me and my friend zach were spotted in a picture taken during hampshire's election day celebration! my shoes are almost as bright as that guy's turquoise underwear (and actually, i think i know who that is). oh the times. :)

yes we did

that was one of the most intense experiences i've ever had! i was really tired and about to go to bed (my friend was going to come wake me up when the election was ending to hear the results) but right as i was about to go to my room, the campus erupted! there was shouting in the halls and everyone flooded outside, singing dancing jumping hugging screaming and laughing. someone shouted about fireworks and we set off running, and ended up in the middle of a parade filled with drums and chants and more dancing. we danced in front of the library for who knows how long! a few people realized that obama was giving his acceptance speech, so i went to my friends house to watch, and i must say, that man is quite the speaker. often times with things like this it can be hard for me to follow what is being said, but with obama's speech, i understood it just fine, and it really meant a lot hearing what he had to say. most of the people in the room had teared up, and it was nice to sit with them all and let it sink in. after which, we caught a small parade (with saxophones!) back to the dorms. :)
happy obama day!
